Our Mission

Corte Madera Montessori (established in 1992), is devoted to the education of Pre-Primary, Primary, and Kindergarten children, ages 2-5 years.

We base our philosophy and programs on the pioneering work of Dr. Maria Montessori. Through careful observation of how a child learns, she developed educational materials designed to assist children to reach their full potential of self-confidence and independence. Dr. Montessori’s methods follow and inspire the natural enthusiasm children have for learning.

The Classroom

Our classrooms are led by Montessori certified teachers. Each well prepared environment reflects the core Montessori belief that children learn best through their own efforts. The role of the teacher is to link the children to the environment by group and individual lessons
Indoor Outdoor Space

Many windows and sky lights fill the spacious hexagon classrooms with natural light. Each room has an attached outdoor extended classroom and gardens that add a lively compliment to the indoor work areas.

The large, well equipped playground and field provide plenty of room for twice-daily recess with Frisbees, balls, parachutes and games.

School Day: 9:00am-2:30pm
Half-day options from 9:00am - 12:00pm
3-day and 5-day programs available

Extended School Program is from
8:00am - 9:00am & 2:30pm - 4:30pm
