Primary Program
Ages 3 - 5
School Day: 9:00am - 2:30pm
Half Day: 9:00am - 12:00pm
Special Programs:
Art Studio, Music Together, Natural Science Program, Spanish
The Primary school day begins at 9:00am.
From 9:00-11:00, the children engage in their morning work period. This includes individual and group lessons, and self-chosen work using Montessori materials in practical life and sensorial skills, language, math, geography and world culture. Art, music, gardening and special programs and events are important daily enrichments. Snack is available throughout the morning.
Circle time is from 11:00-11:30 followed by recess in the playground from 11:30-12:00.
Lunch is 12:00-12:45.
The afternoon work period begins after lunch and ends at 2:00pm.
Afternoon recess is from 2:00-2:25 with class dismissal at 2:30pm.

Extended School Program (ESP)
We have a dedicated space available for our Extended School Program.
Extended care is available to Primary students before school from
8:00am-9:00am and after school from 2:30pm-4:30pm.
Extended care for Pre-Primary students is available in the mornings from
8:00am-9:00am on a limited basis, and in the afternoons from 2:30-3:30 pm.
There is an additional charge for the Extended School Program.
The Academic Year
Corte Madera Montessori follows a standard school year calendar including holidays. Classes generally commence the day after Labor Day and end mid-June. We are closed for a two week Holiday Break, a one week Winter Break, and a one week Spring Break.
Primary Program Summer Sessions
The summer program is comprised of one-week sessions that start in June and end in August.
Enrolled Primary students may register for all or some of the sessions. ESP is also available. We are closed during the week of July 4th.
